Problem: The CEO of a publishing firm received threatening e-mails and voicemails which he suspected were sent by an employee.

Solution: EvidentData’s initial investigation uncovered that malicious software used to secretly monitor e-mail and web browsing (often referred to as “spyware”) was installed on the CEO’s workstation.  EvidentData identified the culpable employee as the company’s IT manager.  Hasty action was discouraged, as IT managers often possess unique access to sensitive information which, if divulged or damaged, can cause irreparable harm to a company.  Under the guise of a security audit, EvidentData interviewed the IT manager in order to identify and secure all critical business systems.  The IT manager and multiple accomplices were dismissed once EvidentData ensured the company’s information assets were safeguarded.
